Introduction

 The Hong Kong College of Cardiac Nursing (HKCCN) was established to promote the continuous development of cardiac nursing in Hong Kong. The college comprises nurses who are dedicated to promoting excellence in cardiac nursing from various specialties, including Cardiac Medicine, Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Cardiac Perfusion.

 

Mission

The aim of the college is to promote high-quality health care and the well-being of cardiac clients by enhancing the standard of care. In addition, the college aims to promote health education on the prevention and management of cardiac diseases.

 

Objectives

1. Set professional standards for advanced nursing practice in cardiac nursing and cardiac

2. Set the criteria for the assessment and examination for fellowship accreditation.

3. Offer advanced cardiac education programs to prepare for advanced nursing practice at the post-graduate level and for the fellowship accreditation exa

4. Conduct assessments and examinations for eligible members to be certified as ordinary members and fellows to practice cardiac nursing at an advanced level.

5. Ensure the maintenance of integrity, ethical conduct, and professional standards of ordinary members and fellows to practice cardiac nursing.

6. Collaborate with national and international counterparts and organizations for the promotion of the professional status of fellow members in cardiac specialty nursing.

7. Perform other activities that would further the aims and objectives of the college.
